how did it live up to them?

the music played a huge part when dealing with where the shark was. then he would pop up and even though you knew he would everyone still got schocked, there was blood and gore, and a huge explosion at then end ended it perfectly.

for the time set this movie was made it was a really gd and original idea that had a huge impact on society. the movie kept you on the edge of your seats mainly when they were in the ocean looking for the shark.the acting was mediocure at most i found it could of been better.  the directing was good for that year seeing how i think the sharks nowadays would look much more realistic.

cons

while the movie was good at certain parts yet again at others it was very dull and boring and really just almost made me sleep.  while the actors did an okay job they got the job done but they could of done a lot better. then the directing was alright for thing like the shark of course wouldnt of been that advanced but things like when they opened up the shark the guts could of looked a lot more real.

i would in fact recoment this movie a yes it is and always will be a classic, nothing will ever change that. its a movie who’s had a great impact around the world and it is a one thing to do before you die! watch jaws, i would recoment things to almost anyone over the age of 13 as it could be a bit of a gorey movie and so it might not be suitable for certain people.

turning point 4-brohdi shows johnny of tyler tied down, to keep him from turning them in

CONVENTIONS

cars chases, explosions, some romance, girl in distress, bad guy, good guy, guns, violance, and usually a happy ending, almost a gaurentee someone dies.

this movie was very old school and had many of the conventions in it. there was a car chase that continued on foot, jumping fences, there were guns, and shootings, guy find girl of his dreams then loses her but in the end always get her back. looses his rfiend but gets the girl.

MOVIE REVIEW

Pro- the plot of the entire movie was very entertaining and quite original, everybody always seemed to be interested and it didnt really ever get boring. the directing in the movie was quite well done for the early 90′s, their werent really any major things that were noticeably wrong with this picture that you could catch at first glance. the acting was very intense all the actors really came together in this pictures and really did a great job. especially during the last few scenes in the bank and at the last scene at the beach, i found the acting to be almost perfect. 

Con- the story was done very well, seeing how fast and the furious “stole” this movie i like the fact of cars better, but the whole idea’s of surfers and them moving with the waves, really out of the box and very well thought out. the directing in the movie was probably top notch for that time the quality wasn’t very good but seeing how it was done almost 20 years ago, the technology wasn’t as advanced as today at all. the minor actors weren’t anything really great for certain scene’s involving guns or when johnny broke his leg i found they over exaggerated a bit too much.

overall i liked this movie very much, i would definatly recomend it to others more so teens and young adults of guys and girls, but mor so guys, because they do have some actors which would attract some girl to go watch it.

3) How did the Movie live up to its Conventions

-the first time Reuben goes to Polly’s apartment is consider beyond as an embarrassing moment

-he finally picks polly and lives happily ever after.

-when lisa comes back he regrets her mistake and wants ruben back

-once he comes back from the honeymoon alone, he’s away from people for a while.

- Sandy lyle is quite the stupid friend we all love

Pros and Cons of Along came Polly

pros

-story , it was a funny movie that kept the audience very intrigued and thinking

-directing,  was well done, the movie itself well wall put together and there weren’t really any noticeable flaws

-Acting, the acting in the movie was very well done, i love the actors and found they all worked so well together

Cons

-story, like any other romantic comedy it became a bit predictable and so they should of put more or different things that would spice it up from the rest of the romantic comedies

-directing, i find that giving abit more information about the caraters pasts would of been useful in the movie, it would of cleared things up and put them more in perspective

Acting- i dont have any bad comments about the acting i found it to be superb

i would recomend this movie, from teens to any one in around their 40′s as its a movie for most ages, guys wld like this movie it might just take some draging or begging to get them into the theater.

People that would be interested in our movie would be teens from the age of 13-30.  Teens would like our movie because it is a comedy, and a stupid comedy. Most teens like to laugh at stupid jokes.

Older women would not like our movie because it is not there type of comedy, the comedy is suited towards younger people. Younger children would not like our movie because it is not a cartoon.

We have chosen 2 main characters, which will be Shia Laboeuf and Aubrey Drake Graham.  Our budget is 16 million$ so we only have 4 million to use on our main characters. Shia has acted in movies already and Aubrey was only on tv. So therefore Aubrey actor will cost 750 000$ and Shia will get payed 500 000$ because that was his recent salary but due to new updates his salary is going to be 3 ooo ooo$.   This leaves us with 250 000$ to spend on other needs.

Stage 1

Gepetto is teenager in high school; he lives with his mom in Boston while his dad has been in Africa for the most part of his life working. He a straight a student though he is not very popular in school. Gepetto has grown to be very close with his mother, throughout his life she is all he has. Missing that father figure in his life has taken up for the most part of his athletic and social skills. Gepetto is teased very often because he is the only senior male who has yet to grow body hair…anywhere.

Turning point 1

Gepetto’s mother, Pamela decides to take in a foreign exchange student, Nakagawa Prates, because she thinks is will be good for his social skills. Nakagawa prates is from south Africa, is very upset that his poor parents have decided to send him to the united states this year out of all the years, because this year his country is hosting the world cup.  

Stage 2

Because of his undiscovered talent to run, Naki (for short) made the football team as the head running back this was preceded by his high rise to high school popularity.  He starts hanging out with the popular guys but still walks home with Gepetto. Naki tries to help Gepetto to popularity but is faced with a though choice but in the end he chooses Gepetto over the Jocks. He becomes very close with Gepetto and his mother. Through getting closer Naki, Gepetto finds out that Naki did in fact know his father.

Turning point 2

One day after school while they’re walking home Gepetto notices that someone’s following them, but he doesn’t think much about it. They go home, do homework, eat supper and watch TV together. Just before they get ready for bed, Pamela tells them she going to walk Fish (a gerbil). As their saying their prayers they hear a scream! They run out side only to find Fish. They know they both need to find Pamela.

Stage 3

He calls the cops, they tell him it’s going to be okay and that they’re going to do their best to find her. He does his best to help in any way he can, he makes posters, talks to his neighbours and talks to his friends at school. Gepetto keeps getting notes in his locker at school; he takes them as pranks but still keeps them in his locker. One day when Gepetto goes home he notice’s something in Fish’s bowl and notice’s Naki isn’t home yet…  

Turning Point 3

Naki gets home and is questioned by Gepetto, Naki confesses to him the truth, Naki is actually the richest child in Africa even though parents are poor. He came to the states as a refugee from people trying to kidnap him for ransom. He explains to Gepetto that the kidnappers thought it was Naki who they kidnapped, but it was in fact Pamela in Naki’s hoodie.  Naki and Gepetto are both committed to find his mother.

Stage 4

With Naki’s connections and money, they are able to find clues to the where about of the kidnapper and basic information about him. They find ways to protect themselves from him, and find the kidnapper’s location assuming Pamela is with him.

Turning Point 4

They get to the kidnappers location, they tie him to a grocery cart with only his head sticking out, and they slap and interrogate him for hours. After interrogation they know that the kidnapper did help kidnap her but she is not with him anymore. The kidnapper gives them valid information on the location of Pamela. With a conclusion that their mother is now located in Africa, Naki calls his connections and schedules for a private plane to arrive later on that night so they could arrive in Naki’s hometown early in the morning. They rough him up then go home to get some rest.

Stage 5

The woke up from their long nap realizing its 4 am they were running late, they call a cab seeing how none of them have a car, he takes them to the private plane strip where their plane is waiting them. They arrive in Africa where they are escorted to a private disclosed hut. Later that night they sneak around and follow the directions that they got from the kidnapper and they follow them until the house. In front they see guards they decide that they could handle them, Gepetto miraculously grows a beard. The classes that Gepetto had been watching about self defence on the internet were about to pay off. They fight back to best to the best of their abilities, but in fact in the end Naki just pays them off.

Turning point 5

They enter the hut and they see Pamela tied down, alone, abandoned and starving, but alive. They rush to get her, and she tells them they need to go, now. They hear cars coming so they run into the forest they stay as quiet as they can for minutes until the men figured they ran away. They get to their hut where the call the plane to come pick them up.

Stage 6

They arrive back at Boston, where Naki, tells them the news that he will be staying in Boston, for longer, then Pamela tells him that he is more than welcomed to stay with them.

As a new immigrant to Canada, 1958 was a big year of change for my grandmother, Francesca Ranno. A new house, new neighborhood, new people, new language she was facing new adventures including her first and second child. Her husband Giuseppe was always hard at work and so times together were cherished. The first picture here was taken in 1960 during a picnic at Jarry Park,  the second was taken 49 years later. From this picture you can see right away that there is change: she got older, the weather was better, fashion changed, though some things stayed similar. The tree grew just as much as she did, but it’s still there for her to lean, to sit, or even to pose. One thing I love is that though much has changed, my grandmother will always have that smile on her face…

November 16th, 2009: finished the final version of my old pic and read case study one. I wrote some answers down though that was cut short because i had to model another time.

November 24th, 2009: Our class went on a field trip to the Biodome, therefore we lost a whole day’s work

December 2nd, 2009: Mr. Penning told us some last minute adjustments we had to make to our old  family history project. most new photo’s we’re not very well taken, did not tell a story and so he told gave us new directions. we were told to make our new pictures old as well,by adding a new texture to our photo it is expected to make our new pictures have an older look to it.I forgot how to put use textures but with the help of a classmate I got this project done with.

December 8th, 2009: I opened my new and old picture and saved each as a jpg and psd file, then i saved both on my usb stick. today was the day of my photoshot, I took my photo’s and i was very satisfied with them then i modeled for my partners and that basically took up all my classtime.

December 15th, 2009: i helped my friend edit his photo because he didn’t know how to add a texture, then i modeled for a good portion of the class and finally i went to work on my case stusides i had left to do before the holidays.

well the issues here i think are becoming very sirious, the fact that our world is becoming so untrustworthy and crazy that we need to have cameras’ around ever corner it just sad. years ago these things were never nessecary nor were they even thought of, the most sirious issue that i find is that certain classrooms even have camera’s that is what i personally think is just too far. but on the other hand i heard a story when a fight broke out in a class room a student grabbed a switchblade froom his bag and cut the other student. so in a way you can’t blame people for wanting to take these etreme measures. and if werre not doing anything bad then we really shouldn’t mind have people watching us….

this study is very relevant to my life, everyday i am caught on a camera when i walk into a store or school, poeple can watch me without me even knowing. An that does trouble me but when its for my own protection i find it is worth the investment. you can never be to safe as the cliche says, and well i guess we aren’t…
